Additive Manufacturing - 3D printing at its finest
The Design Factors Research Group at the University of Limerick is offering 3D Printing services to research bodies and industry. We invite you to collaborate with us to enhance your research and development activities by utilising our state of the art equipment. Non-Disclosure Agreements (NDAs) can be facilitated.
Our 3D printer uses photopolymer materials which have a range of properties from rigid to rubber-like, with transparency from glass-like to opaque. Impressively, this technology and materials enable users to create parts using a mix of different material properties. Our system utilises materials (up to 14 different materials in one print job), that can approximate ABS, Polypropylene, opaque and clear plastics, rubbers of various shore values, and also plastics that can tolerate high temperatures. A medical grade plastic is also available and FDA certified for prolonged contact with a patient’s body.
